Funding

Trainees are classed as students of higher education for the period of training and may receive student support such as loans and bursaries throughout their course. Tuition fee loan applications are made through Student Finance England once accepted onto the programme.

Eligible trainees on the PGCE Programme receive bursaries in line with other postgraduate ITT routes, with scholarships available for priority subjects through subject associations. Bursary funding is reviewed each year by the Department for Education and is not guaranteed from year to year.
